Greg Hill, Lead Pastor
The founding pastor, Greg Hill was born and raised in Austin. Prior to launching Southwest Hills,
he developed his leadership and teaching gifts as a leader in Student Ministry for fifteen years. He
and his wife Janie, along with two other families, initiated the effort to start SHCC in the fall of 1997.
The Hills have two children: Brandon and Lindsey.
James Hughes, Worship Arts Pastor
James Hughes, SHCC's Worship Arts Pastor, and his wife Sandy are one of the three original families that
helped launch the church. Prior to joining SHCC full-time, James was employed at Dell Computer for twelve years. He and Sandy
also have 10 years previous experience in youth and music ministry. James and Sandy have two daughters: Sara and Elle.
Scott Wilson, Student Family Pastor
Scott Wilson and his wife, Cassie, have been a part of Southwest Hills since August 2009. Scott has served as the
pastor to students in churches in Mississippi and Kansas. A native of New Orleans, Scott spent most of his childhood in Mississippi.
He is a graduate of Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA and is currently completing a second Master’s degree from LBTS.
Scott has served in student ministry for more than 15 years. He and Cassie have one son, Cooper.
Bob Brandon, Community Life Pastor
Bob and Bev Brandon both graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth where
they helped start a church plant. Bob served as Executive Pastor there for 25 years followed by working as a Project
Manager for a construction business over the past couple of years. Their four children are spread around the world.
Barrett is a professional triathlete training in France; Brooke is a missionary in Chiang-Mai Thailand planting a
church; Blair works for a U.S. Congressman on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. as his legislative correspondent; and
Britt is a junior at Hyde Park Baptist School here in Austin.
Heather Tolin, Administrative Assistant
Heather was born and raised in Indiana and moved to Austin in 2006. Prior to joining the SHCC staff, she worked as an administrative
assistant & then as an office manager for a combined total of 10 years. Heather enjoys spending her free time with her husand,
Charles and son, Justin.
Jennifer Appleton, Children’s Ministry Director
Jennifer Appleton, and her husband Wayne, have been attending Southwest Hills since 1999. Prior to taking the lead position of
the children’s ministry team, Jennifer taught elementary school for 12 years. Jennifer and Wayne have two children, Madeline and
Kip.
