Greg Hill

Lead Pastor

Home Grown. Having grown up right here in South Austin, Greg loves this place and has a unique perspective and intuitive understanding of its people and needs. He and a couple of friends started this church with a vision for a vibrant and accepting fellowship full of both grace and truth. When he’s not dreaming of something unrealistically enormous, fly fishing, or routing for the Horns, you can usually find him and his wife, Janie, at a local coffee shop or eating at the latest food trailer on Congress. Greg and Janie have two I’m-never-gonna-leave-Austin kids – Brandon and Lindsey.

Eric Platner

Executive Pastor

Mr. Clean. Eric was shaving his head before bald was cool.  He’s an operations freak who loves to make dreams come true.  Eric built his insane thirst for strategic execution upon a 20 year plus adventure in the non-profit, ministry world.  He and his wife, Carrie, envisioned large family reunions so they had 3 kids and adopted 3 more to their multi-racial tribe and are now indoctrinating them to love all Oklahoma State sports.  When he’s not asking the question, “How does that help us achieve our mission?” you can usually find Eric feasting on breakfast tacos at Torchy’s.

James Hughes

Worship Arts Pastor

Daydreamer - “I love staring out of windows. It doesn’t mean I’m not paying attention. It just sometimes does.” James and his wife Sandy love supporting local businesses, especially local food joints. Town Lake runs. Barton Springs Pool. Migas. Hanging out with their daughters Sara and Elle. James especially loves leading us all back to the heart of worship and seeing the arts used to the fullest in the Church for that purpose.

Shawn Cooper

Family Life Pastor

Hockey Town. The most passionate Canuck from north of the border, Shawn is devoted to helping families live radically for Christ. He is a creative teacher with multicultural flavor having led student ministries in New York and North Carolina. His love for God and his family are infectious and, when he’s not dreaming about hockey, dancing in the Spirit, or challenging someone to radical living, you can usually find him, his wife Elisa, and his two kids, Layton and London, eating ½ price appetizers at Jack Allen’s.

Jennifer Appleton

Serve Others Coordinator

Big Heart.  Jen loves the Indigo Girls’ quote, “God must have been joking when He made me a Yankee…” After living in Austin for almost 15 years, this native Michigander wholeheartedly loves our city, the South, and the heat.  She’s a former teacher with a deep passion for developing people and what really pumps her up is seeing them discover and use the gifts God has given them.  When she’s not thinking about someone she can encourage, she and her husband, Wayne, along with their two kids are usually exercising, playing games, or planting their latest purchase from Natural Gardener.
