SHCC exists to create environments that help people love God, follow Christ, and serve others. We seek to do this through a set of values that make our church unique. Those include:
BIBLICAL AUTHORITY: God has spoken to us through the Bible and we recognize it as the final authority for our lives
AUDACIOUS FAITH: We are faith-energized, big-thinking risk takers. We won’t insult God with small thinking and safe living
SACRIFICIAL SERVICE: We give up things we love for things we love even more. We are contributors, not consumers. The church does not exist to simply serve us – we are the church and we exist to serve others.
DISARMING GRACE: We will be an arms-wide-open church that emulates the depth of love and grace Christ has for all people
INTENTIONAL OUTREACH: We will prioritize people who don’t know Christ. To reach people no one is reaching, we must do things no one is doing.
AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY: Believing is not enough. Belonging is where love becomes real. Personal growth and genuine care happens best in the context of friendships.
SPIRITUAL LEGACY: We are difference-makers investing in the next generation. We are responsible to pass along the faith and opportunities that have been entrusted to us.
